Statement of Need and Purpose

Our children and youth need help in order to handle the obstacles they encounter every day.  The world has drastically changed spiritually, economically, socially and academically. The American Heritage Dictionary gives us a definition for what we are facing right now, “a condition of urgent need for action or assistance”, this is the definition for a ‘state of emergency.’  There is a definite need for leadership development for middle and high school students in the Dallas area. Dallas has high incidences of Juvenile crime, teen pregnancy, school dropout rates and low college acceptance rates.

Train Your Future is committed to reducing destructive juvenile behavior and providing awareness to youth and parents about better alternatives to this destructive behavior. We received our mandate in Deuteronomy 6, letting us know that we are to protect our children and provide them with the tools they need to deal with situations they face daily. We are also to aide them in forming and nurturing an intimate relationship with God. The adage still rings true, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ God has given each of us attributes that can lend to the rearing of our children.  Therefore, we will  present a “State of Emergency” Awareness Conference called F.A.C.T.

 Summary of Project 

Train Your Future designed F.A.C.T. as a one day conference that promotes spiritual, social and intellectual growth among youth, by giving them “The Facts.”   It is the goal of F.A.C.T. to improve communities and decrease youth delinquency, by educating, empowering, and equipping youth to be leaders. Train Your Future is committed to training youth for their future and will provide additional leadership development training for youth attending the Awareness Conference.
